Redeemer has been proclaiming Jesus Christ and serving the Sanford community since 1953. We are a close-knit congregation that seeks to love God, love one another and serve our neighbors in Christ's name.
Sunday Worship, Bible Study and Fellowship
Sunday mornings at Redeemer give you time for learning, fellowship and worship. Adult Bible Study begins at 9:00 AM. At 10:00 AM, we gather for coffee and fellowship before worship. Our Sunday worship service begins at 10:30 AM.
Worship is centered on God's Word and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Visitors receive a bulletin and can follow the order of service without needing previous knowledge of Lutheran worship. If you have questions before visiting, please call the church office at 407-322-3552.
What You Can Expect at Redeemer
Redeemer follows a traditional Lutheran order of worship. A typical service includes confession and absolution, Scripture readings, hymns, a sermon or message from God's Word, the Apostles' or Nicene Creed, prayers, the Lord's Prayer, the offering, Holy Communion and a closing blessing.
You do not need to know Lutheran terminology or worship customs before you visit. Our members are glad to help visitors understand what is happening and find their place in the service.
A Small Church with a Big Welcome
One of the strengths of Redeemer is the opportunity to know people personally. We are a smaller congregation where worship, fellowship and service are shared as a church family.
If you are new to church, returning to church, moving to Sanford, or simply looking for a congregation where people will learn your name, we hope you will feel comfortable visiting us. Come as you are, meet our members and see whether Redeemer feels like a good church home for you.
Serving Sanford Since 1953
Lutheran Church of the Redeemer has maintained a Christian presence in Sanford since 1953. Over the decades, the congregation has continued to proclaim Jesus Christ while serving the needs of the community.
Today, Redeemer combines traditional Lutheran worship and Bible teaching with practical Christian service. Our outreach has included food assistance, a community garden, comfort support for children experiencing trauma, and support for women and families through ministry partners.
Christian Community Care and Outreach
Redeemer believes Christian faith is lived out by loving and serving our neighbors. Our community-care ministries have included comfort backpacks for children affected by trauma, a community food pantry and community garden, and support for single pregnant women in crisis through Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries.
Our former monthly food pantry operated from 2017 through February 2023 and is no longer operating.
