Lutheran Church of the Redeemer hosts worship-related, fellowship, educational and community events throughout the year.
12th Annual Hymn Festival at Redeemer
Join us for the 12th Annual "HymnFest" at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer! This year's theme is "Let There Be Light." This special Worship service begins at 4pm, Saturday, November 1, 2026. The church is located at 2525 S. Oak Avenue in Sanford.
David Ludwig, Jr. will accompany and lead us in Worship with both old familiar hymns and newer hymn arrangements. Hymnfest features a choir with members from other Lutheran churches in the area. All are welcome to come sing and join us to celebrate our God and Savior.
How the Hymn Festival Began
In 2014, Lutheran Church of the Redeemer purchased a three-manual Rogers Organ. The church organist, Marge Freeman, felt that organ dedication should be part of an event she referred to as “HymnFest” because the purpose of the organ is to lead the congregation in song.
Marge asked local organist, artist and musician friend, David Ludwig, Jr. to be the guest leader/director for the dedication and first Hymn Festival in 2014. Mr. Ludwig is currently the Worship and Arts Director at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Orlando. He also served the congregation at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Winter Oark.
Little did we know that this wonderful musical event would continue to grow and is now going on its twelfth year! If you don't know what “HymnFest” is, come join us at 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2026. You’ll be so glad you did!
Church Fellowship and Community Activities
Events at Redeemer are opportunities to build relationships within the congregation and with our neighbors in Sanford. Activities may include fellowship gatherings, Bible and Christian education activities, outreach projects, seasonal events and community service.

Unless an event listing says otherwise, church and community events are held at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 2525 South Oak Avenue, Sanford, Florida 32773-5155. We are located directly across from Dairy Queen at the corner of Park Avenue and 25th Street.
Parking is available at the church and additional parking is available across the street.
